At first glance roulette seems like a relatively simple game with only a handful of different versions that vary on the number of zeros and the rules that apply. But there are actually a number of additional games with side bets, jackpot bets and even multiple wheels and balls.
Standard Games
The following roulette games are very common and whilst many software providers have made their own versions, there’s little difference between games of the same type.
- European Roulette – Single zero roulette and the game most commonly found in the UK. It’s also the variant that’s used as the base game in the majority of the versions found below.
- French Roulette – Follows the same idea as european roulette with the addition of en prison and la partage features which cut down the house edge on even money bets. Also includes common bet patterns for quicker play.
- American Roulette – To be avoided at all costs as the addition of a second zero doubles the house edge. The casinos will still offer it to those who want to throw their money away, but there is almost always a better alternative.
